Following the discovery of America, Hercules founded Sevilla, this place has its origin associated with Tartessian civilization. It was known by different names like Romans called it Hispalis and it was known as Isbiliya under the Moors. Sevilla is one of the largest historical places in Europe enriched with the historical monuments. It is located on the banks of Guadalquivir and has one of the largest cathedral in Christendom, the minaret of La Giralda and the Alcazar Palace. Apart from these monuments, the place is enriched with ancient places like Torre del Oro, Casa de Pilatos, Town Hall, Archive of the Indies (a place where the historical records of the American continent are kept), convents, parish churches, the Fine Arts Museum (the second largest picture gallery in Spain) and palaces.

Sevilla is universally famous for being a place which has a very historical origin and fascinating monuments. Sevillian are known for their wit and charm, over and above this Sevillians are also great actors. This is reflected in the performance they put across at their annual Fería de Abril, a week-long party of drink, food and dance. This is a great party which does not stop for even a minute and runs day and night. If you happen to witness this party you would see that the men of Sevilla would be parading in the party on their fine horses and the women would be dancing in their partyspecial brilliantly coloured gypsy dresses. Sevilla also celebrates the Holy Week, Semana Santa which is a religious festival. During the festival hooded penitents are seen marching in long processions followed by huge baroque floats These floats have Images of the Virgin Mary or Jesus Christ, people walk along with the procession cheering up and enjoying. Along with this Sevilla also celebrates Spring festivals with great grandeur.
